For most applications of solar air heating, we are looking at the winter months with a low sun trajectory. The panels need to be installed at 65º to vertical to take full advantage of winter sun. For best results, the panels need to be within 15-20 degrees of true south.
The most important hours are between 10am and 2pm, or at least two hours on either side of solar noon. However, many homeowners have opted to have panels installed on a south-west or south-east face (or both!) to acquire whatever heat is possible for their living spaces.
To take fulll advantage of your south face... our panels can be mounted horizontally... end to end, side-by-side in multiples of up to four, across walls and between floor levels. And, all qualify for the NS $500 rebate!

ENVIRONMENTAL SOLAR SYSTEMS: SunMate
A single SunMate panel heats up to 500 square feet (assuming normal ceiling height). Double-sealed solar glass eliminates air infiltration and water leaks. Narrow size allows for specialty applications.
Polyisocyanurate insulation results in minimal heat loss and the low energy fan operates for just pennies per day. The design of the intake and outlet air flows accommodate 2” x 4” or 2” x 6” construction. Its narrower size allows for installs in spaces not normally accessible by other panels. The outlet air temp on our showroom model has reached over 50ºC at peak winter conditions!
